This is my completed horror film poster after I have put each of the features of the poster together.

When creating this poster I made sure that each of the features followed the codes and conventions of a horror film poster. I also edited the image a bit more as originally the girl was wearing a pink dress, however I thought that by making the dress a dark, blood red this makes her seem more sinister and less innocent.

The way that I have positioned each of the features reflects the codes and conventions found on horror film posters. This is because the title and credits are usually found at the bottom of the poster with the image taking up the whole page. The tagline is found at the top of the poster as this is a typical place for it to be found.

Credits

This is a screenshot of the bottom of my film poster:

It includes the film title, the credits and the date of the film release.

The font for the credits is a typical font used for credits on film posters as it is thin and written in capital letters.

The font used for the title of the film and the date is written in our chosen font. I have edited the font to make it looked as if it has been scratched, this gives the effect that the characters in this film are not friendly and it makes it seem more eerie.

The production logo is included in the film credits as it is a conventional layout for film posters. Although you cannot see the logo very clearly it is included on the poster as it is a typical convention on film posters.

The photo on the left is the photo I have chosen to use for the main image on my film poster. The image on the right is the same photo but it has been edited so that it is appropriate for the poster.

To allow my poster to follow the codes and conventions of a horror film poster I needed to edit my photo so that it was more suitable for the genre. I did this by creating more shadows on the photo especially around the trees to make it look more sinister and scary as darkness is a convention of a horror film poster. I also edited the top and bottom of the photo to fade to black, this is so that when I add my text to the poster, they will be able to stand out against the dark background.

Tagline
The tagline that I have decided to use is 'What Goes Around Comes Around'. This is because the film is about payback and the revenge that the little girl plots. This is a common phrase used when talking about revenge and so it would be perfect as a catchphrase for my horror film.

I have written the tagline in capital letters so that it follows the codes and conventions of a horror film poster. It has been written in white so that it stands out against the dark background.
